Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The government is preparing to convert land from the defunct Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) program and state-confiscated assets into housing for low-income citizens.
The plan is being coordinated by the Ministry of Housing and Settlement, the Ministry of Finance, and the Land Bank.
“We hope that in the near future we can take concrete steps to utilize assets from past corruption cases and other seizures under the Ministry of Finance for public housing,” said Housing Minister Maruarar Sirait on Wednesday evening (24/9/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
Director General of State Assets at the Finance Ministry, Rionald Silaban, confirmed ongoing discussions with the Land Bank, which will guide the PKP in executing the project.
He added that for seized assets, the government is awaiting an official list from the Attorney General’s Office. The initiative is expected to accelerate the supply of subsidized housing for Indonesia’s low-income families.
