inp.polri.go.id - East Java. The Bali Regional Police have successfully arrested 3 young men from East Java. They were named as suspects in the distribution of illegal hard drugs in the form of mixed pills in large quantities.
The three are known with the initials WJR, 21, from Jember; MAF, 25, from Pasuruan; and EW, 24, from Jember.
In addition to arresting the three young men, the police also confiscated more than 4,000 pills with the logos "Y" and "DMP" from the perpetrators.
Vice Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Bali Regional Police, Superintendent I Nengah Sadiarta, revealed that the case was uncovered after the public reported a suspicious transaction in the Simpang Dewa Ruci area, Kuta.
"From the report, we managed to arrest the first suspect WJR during a transaction on Friday, September 12, 2025," he said on Tuesday (9/16/2025).
During a search, police seized 1,032 white pills with the “Y” logo from WJR, ready for retail sale.
Police then took WJR to his boarding house in the Denpasar area. There, police found 760 white “Y” pills and 360 yellow “DMP” pills, bringing the total confiscated from WJR to 1,720 pills.
WJR admitted to obtaining the illicit goods by ordering through a Facebook account named Rohan.
He had ordered three times, totaling 30,000 pills, and the thousands of pills confiscated were leftover stock that had not been distributed.
Police then targeted the owner of the Rohan account. The owner is known by the initials MAF, 25. He was arrested on Tunjung Sari street, West Denpasar.
From MAF, police confiscated 1,011 “Y” pills stored in black plastic. During a search at his boarding house in Kuta, police found another 762 yellow “DMP” pills and 100 white “Y” pills.
Police then got the name of another suspect after questioning MAF, which is EW, 24. It didn't take long for EW to be arrested by the police on Taman Sari Kelan street, Kuta.
Their modus operandi was the same: they ordered via social media and then distributed them at retail, targeting laborers and construction workers.
"The low price and stimulant effect make these pills popular, even though they are dangerous to health," he explained.
The suspects were detained at the Bali Regional Police detention center for their actions. They were charged under Articles 435 and 436 of Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health, which carry a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison and a fine of up to IDR 5 billion.
