inp.polri.go.id - Pekanbaru. The Riau Regional Police removed a number of key officials of the Kampar Sub-regional Police through a Telegram Letter from the Riau Police Chief Number ST/409/V/KEP./2025 dated May 18. The rotation was due to the escape of 11 prisoners from Kampar Sub-regional Police detention Center

Vice Chief of the Riau Regional Police, Brigadier General Jossy Kusumo in Pekanbaru, Monday said that this transfer policy is a form of commitment from the Riau Police Chief, Inspector General Herry Heryawan, in maintaining the professionalism and internal accountability of the police.

This step also aims to ensure that public services and the maintenance of public security and order are not disrupted.

"There must be no vacuum of control in the field, especially when a number of officials are undergoing examination by the Riau Regional Police's professional and security division. The organization must continue to run and the public must continue to be served," emphasized Jossy.

In this transfer, the Riau Regional Police Chief transferred Police Assistant Superintendent Rifendi, who previously served as Head of the Kampar Sub-regional Police Operations Division. The position of Head of Operations of the Kampar Sub-regional Police is now held by Police Assistant Superintendent Romi Irwansyah from the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the Riau Regional Police.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Narcotics and Illegal Drugs Investigation Unit of the Kampar Sub-regional Police, Police Senior Inspector Era Maifo, was also transferred. Police Senior Inspector Markus Timbul Sinaga from the Pekanbaru Sub-regional City Police was appointed as his replacement.

In addition, strengthening supervision of detention rooms was also carried out through the appointment of Second Police Inspector Hazli Murham as an official who was directed to become the Head of the Detention and Evidence Unit of the Kampar Sub-regional Police.

Jossy emphasized that this transfer was part of a strategic managerial step that was intended not only as a sanction or rotation. But as a confirmation of the institution's commitment to professionalism and public trust.
