inp.polri.go.id – Banjarmasin. The South Kalimantan Regional Police will deploy 2,281 personnel to secure the re-voting (PSU) for the South Kalimantan gubernatorial election. Police personnel will be assigned to the seven sub-districts that organize the PSU. The Head of the Operations Bureau (Karo Ops) of the South Kalimantan Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Moch Noor Subchan, said the personnel would ensure the stability of public security and order during the PSU process. "To ensure the stability of security and order during the PSU process, the Indonesian National Police prioritizes preemptive and preventive actions supported by intelligence activities and law enforcement, to anticipate the possibility of contingencies," Head of Operation of the South Kalimantan Regional Police explained, Friday (6/4/2021). According to the Regional General Election Commission of Indonesia (KPUD) schedule, PSU will be started on June 9, 2021. The South Kalimantan Regional Police emphasized that every person must prepare mentally and physically, map any vulnerabilities and carry out early detection. Then, improve good relations with KPUD, Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) and other elements. Personnel is also advised to increase awareness of potential threats that take advantage of the implementation of the PSU. Further, supervision and closely control of the implementation of PSU security and indeed health protocols must be applied considering the situation is still in the Covid-19 Pandemic. "To all Indonesian National Police personnel, I emphasize and remind them to maintain neutrality in the implementation of PSU security," as explained by Karo Ops of the South Kalimantan Regional Police. It is known that the PSU for the 2021 South Kalimantan governor election will take place in South Banjarmasin District, Banjarmasin City, Sambung Makmur District, Alu District, Martapura District, Mataraman District, Astambul District Banjar Regency, and Binuang District Tapin Regency.
