Inp.polri.go.id - Pagar Alam. The South Sumatra Regional Police reinforced its commitment to community security by hosting the "Sabuk Kamtibmas" security assembly at the Pagar Alam City Sub-regional Police Headquarters on Thursday (30/7/2026).

Led directly by South Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, the event was attended by senior officers of the South Sumatera Police, Mayor of Pagar Alam Ludi Oliansyah, Forkopimda local leadership forums, and local community figures.

In his address, Chief Sandi highlighted a paradigm shift in police work, noting that the ultimate measure of law enforcement achievement is no longer judged by the volume of solved cases, but by the ability to prevent crime through early intervention and community education.

"We no longer take pride merely in solving criminal cases. True pride lies in our ability to prevent crime from occurring in the first place through education and mindset transformation. Build a firm joint commitment so that no public security disruptions take hold in Pagar Alam," he said.

Chief Sandi further reminded officers to respond to public concerns with prompt, professional, and humane service, underscoring that maintaining regional harmony requires a unified cross-sectoral team rather than isolated efforts. He added that Pagar Alam's economic potential in agriculture and tourism depends heavily on a stable public security environment.

Head of Public Relations for the South Sumatra Police, Senior Superintendent Nandang Mu'min Wijaya, said that the Sabuk Kamtibmas security initiative establishes a solid social defense system through active collaboration between law enforcement, local administration, and residents across the province.
