Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Commissioner General Aan Suhanan, the Head of the Indonesian National Police (INP)'s  Traffic Corps, disclosed that the Grand Max car was suspected of traveling at a speed exceeding 100 km per hour that led to  the fatal accident involving three vehicles at kilometers 58 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, which claimed 12 lives on Monday. According to him, a Grand Max vehicle was suspected of speeding with no signs of braking. In addition, the vehicle was overloaded, carrying more passengers than its capacity. Both factors are under scrutiny, according to antaranews.com. The investigation, utilizing Traffic Accident Analysis (TAA), aimed to pinpoint the exact cause. So far, 11 victims have been identified, and their bodies will be handed over to their families for burial. It is suspected that the Grand Max was a rental vehicle due to the diverse passengers. The accident involved three vehicles: Primajasa Bus, Grand Max, and Daihatsu Terios, resulting in 12 fatalities and two injuries. The Grand Max and Terios vehicles were completely burned, with all fatalities from the Grand Max. The investigation continues to trace the vehicle owner and determine potential criminal charges.
