Inp.polri.go.id - Timika. The Damai Cartenz Task Force 2024 disclosed a recent surge in Armed Criminal Group (KKB) activity in Yahukimo, Papua.
Superintendent Bayu Suseno, Head of Public Relations for the Task Force, said on Tuesday (9/4/2024) that KKB had killed two civilians from Toraja, South Sulawesi.
Jhonsep Salempang, a 23-year-old water delivery driver, was slain near Nop Goliat Dekai Airport on 30 March 2024. Similarly, on 4 April 2024, Yosep Pulung, a 55-year-old Civil Servant, fell victim to a fatal attack in front of Dekai elementary school.
Salempang suffered slash wounds on his shoulder and abdomen, while Pulung succumbed to stab wounds inflicted by the KKB.
Chief Bayu said that both victims were wrongly accused of being military or police intelligence agents. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators.
