Inp.polri.go.id - Sukabumi. Female police officers, or better known locally as Polwan, from Sukabumi Sub-regional Police provided trauma healing for residents affected by landslides and floods who are currently taking shelter in Bantarsari Village, Sukabumi, West Java, on Sunday (8/12/2024).

“There are hundreds of residents seeking refuge in evacuation centers in Pabuaran. The trauma healing we offer aims to ease their psychological burden after the disaster they have just experienced,” said Lengkong Police Office Chief First Inspector  Bayu Sunarti, as quote by antaranews.com..

At the shelters, the female officers visited tents inhabited by children and women. They provided entertainment, engaging in conversations with the evacuees to help them temporarily forget the traumatic events they endured.

Although the evacuees appeared tired and sad, their spirits were lifted by the officers' visit, making them feel cared for. The female officers reassured the evacuees, encouraging them to stay strong through the emergency response phase and recover.

In addition to trauma healing, Sukabumi Police also distributed aid, including food packages and other essentials, to alleviate the hardships faced by the displaced, particularly since many are farmers unable to work due to the disaster.
