Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Supreme Court sanctioned 206 judges and judicial staff in 2024, issuing 79 severe, 31 moderate, and 96 minor penalties.
"Disciplinary sanctions were imposed on 206 judges and judicial personnel this year, reflecting our commitment to accountability,” said Chief Justice Sunarto during the year-end reflection event in Jakarta on Friday (27/12/2024).
The court’s supervision body received 4,313 complaints, resolving 95.4% of cases, while 197 remain under review. The Judicial Commission submitted 35 disciplinary recommendations involving 63 judges, of whom 16 were sanctioned as per the commission’s advice.
In its anti-corruption efforts, the Supre Court certified 16 courts under the Anti-Bribery Management System (SMAP) this year, with 11 pending certification. Recognizing integrity champions, seven individuals received anti-gratification awards on Anti-Corruption Day.
Chief Justice Sunarto stressed the judiciary's commitment to transparency and urged public participation in monitoring them.
"Integrity remains our main focus. We call on the media to help monitor judicial performance and provide balanced reporting to counter misinformation," he added, as quoted by antaranews.com.
