Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Five members of the Thousand Islands Water and Air Police have received awards for rescuing a teenager swept away at sea after falling from a jet ski in North Jakarta’s Mutiara Beach.
“Five of our officers were honored for their quick response in saving a teenager during the incident on Sunday,” said Thousand Islands Police Chief Superintendent Argadija Putra on Wednesday (24/9/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The teenager, a tourist, lost control of his jet ski after being hit by waves and was pulled under by currents before being rescued and evacuated onto a police patrol boat.
Chief Argadija confirmed the teen was conscious and in stable condition after the incident. He urged the visitors to prioritize safety while engaging in water sports.
