The Directorate of Drug and Crime, Special Crime Investigation Unit of National Police Discovers New Ecstasy Drugs From Germany

Police again found a new type of ecstasy with a weight of 0.42 grams per pill originating from Germany, while in the previous arrest the weight per ecstasy pill was only 0.25 grams. It differs not only in weight, but also in yellowish-green in color. Director of Drug and Crime of National Police, Pol. Brigadier General Krisno Halomoan Siregar, said that the 13,865 ecstasy from Germany were obtained from nine suspects. The nine suspects are SR (21), IY (46), EM (50), MR (23), DB (24), JY (46), KV (23), UY (39), and AW (46). "They were arrested in Central Jakarta and West Jakarta with a total of 13,865 ecstasy evidences and three cellphones," explained the Director of Drugs and Crime of National Police, Thursday (06/03/2021). Then, the supplier in Germany was already aware of the Supreme Court's rule regarding the punishment of drug dealers based on the weight of the confiscated goods. "They deliberately exaggerated each item of ecstasy to circumvent the Supreme Court's decision," explained the Director of Drug and Crime, Special Crime and Investigation Unit of National Police. The one-star general said that investigators also arrested a dealer of 45 Crystal Meths from Malaysia which was produced in Myanmar. The drug will be distributed by suspects ADT (44), SW (25), ES (45), AN (45), AI (39), and MJ (44). The Director of Drug and Crime at National Police's Criminal Investigation Department explained that the four suspects used the mode of smuggling the sea route through the east coast of Sumatra Island. The suspects packed the Crystal Meth in green tea packaging, which has been the modus operandi for the last five years. The suspects are subject to Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2005 concerning narcotics with a minimum penalty of six years, a maximum of 20 years and a minimum fine of IDR 1 Billion and a maximum of IDR 10 Billion in one third of detention period," Said Director of Drug and Crime's Criminal Investigation Unit of Regional Police.
