inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Head of the Government Communications Agency, Muhammad Qodari, stated that the Integrated Community School 2 in Surabaya, East Java, boasts comprehensive facilities and high standards, making it comparable to private schools.
While directly inspecting the construction progress of the school, which is projected to begin operations in August 2026, Qodari toured the various facilities that have been prepared, including a staff room, student dormitories, restrooms, laboratories, sports fields, a mosque, a canteen, and a guest house.
"What's clear is that the facilities are amazing. If we look at these facilities, we'd think this school belongs to a good and expensive private school. But op, this one is aimed at the less fortunate," Qodari said in an official statement in Jakarta on Wednesday (7/29/2026).
Integrated Elementary School 2 in Surabaya is built on 6.6 hectares of land and is designed to accommodate approximately 370 students. Unlike traditional schools, the integrated concept places elementary, middle, and high school levels within a single educational complex.
He assessed that the facilities at the Community School were on par with those of high-standard private schools. What impressed him even more was that all these facilities prioritized children from underprivileged families.
"I'm sure the President would be very proud and deeply moved to see the progress of the Community School firsthand. This school is so spacious. The dormitory building is beautiful, and the facilities are excellent. God willing, it will greatly support and enrich our children's education," said Qodari.
Qodari stated that the Community School is expected to provide an avenue for children from families in Decile 1 and Decile 2 to have equal opportunities to access quality education.
He believes that education is the key to changing the future and improving family welfare.
He also explained that prospective students who will eventually move into the school are currently attending the transitional Community School as part of their preparation before moving into the permanent building.
Qodari added that the construction of the Community School is concrete evidence of the implementation of President Prabowo's education program.
According to him, the idea, which was previously just a concept, is now starting to materialize into an educational facility ready for public use.
