inp.polri.go.id – In investigating the case of shootings between police members, the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit has done the right thing by forming an investigative team consist with the qualified personnel led by Commissioner General Gatot Eddy. It already represents the attitude and steps of the Government, and team will be monitored by the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs. This case cannot be allowed to be ignored because there are many irregularities arising from the handling process or the National Police’s own explanation, which is not clear about the cause and effect of each chain of events. The credibility of the Police and the government is at stake in this case because in the last year or so, the National Police has always received a high positive assessment or perception from the public according to the results of various survey institutions. The government's positive performance is significantly contributed by the fields of politics and security as well as law enforcement as well, so the Police good image is also important to be protected. The Secretary of National Police Commission, Benny J. Mamoto, have been ordered to actively investigate this case in order to help the Police in solving this case appropriately. The step taken by the Police is good because apart from forming the team, it has also announced to cooperate with the National Police Commission and the National Human Rights Commission to solve this case.
