Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. Around 600 Navy soldiers and local residents began removing illegal sea fences in Tanjung Pasir, Tangerang Regency, Banten, on Saturday (18/1/2025) led by Brigadier General Harry Indarto, the Commander of the Navy's Main Base III Jakarta.

Using dozens of the Navy and fishing boats, the teams worked to clear the bamboo fences obstructing the area. The fences were tied with ropes and pulled down using boats.

“This effort is crucial to restoring public access to these waters,” Chief Harry said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The removal follows the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries sealing off the 30.16 km-long fenced area along the Tangerang coastline. The ministry is investigating those responsible for erecting the structures, which have disrupted fishing and marine activities.
