inp.polri.go.id – Probolinggo. Density often occurs in the southern route of Probolinggo. Starting from the exit of the East Probolinggo Toll Road to the Probolinggo-Lumajang border. The Traffic Unit (Ditlantas) of East Java Police (Polda Jatim) monitored the southern route from Probolinggo to Lumajang. There are several points that has to be a concern, such as at the village of Malasan and the Malasan railway crossing, Friday (05/05/22). The police have prepared traffic flow engineering along the southern route to prevent traffic jams on the 7-8 May 2022 return flow. "We are monitoring the southern route of Probolinggo, and the southern route from Probolinggo-Lumajang is a bit crowded," said AKBP Gathut Bowo Supriyono. In the Lumajang Police jurisdiction, there are 2 market places that becomes the source of traffic density, which are the fruit market in Gunung Tengu Village and Ranuyoso Village. "And for the route from Lumajang to Probolinggo, there is an increase of vehicles volume. We will coordinate with two police chiefs to carry out an engineering pattern for traffic flow, so that at the peak of the Eid backflow, there will be no long traffic jams," he added. The traffic engineering on the southern route is by providing a barrier at the T-junction and disabling the traffic light so that the vehicle can keep moving.
