inp.polri.go.id - Cirebon. Cirebon Sub-regional City Police managed to arrest three of the four suspected perpetrators of the kidnapping of an elementary school teacher in Susukan, Cirebon Regency, West Java.
"Today we have arrested three perpetrators, the other one with the initials M is still being pursued," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Cirebon Sub-regional City Police Police Senior Inspector I Putu Ika Prabawa in Cirebon, Thursday (5/29/2025).
The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit said the three perpetrators had the initials WB, R, and INM.
Putu said that the incident that had shocked the people occurred on Saturday (5/24/2025) with the motive being related to a personal problem between the victim and one of the perpetrators.
According to him, the victim was initially reported missing from the school environment. After being investigated, the teacher was taken by force by the four perpetrators.
The victim, he said, had been held captive and abused in Indramayu Regency before managing to escape.
The police then conducted an investigation based on the victim's report to the Susukan Sector Police, Cirebon Sub-regional City Police.
This kidnapping had become public attention after information and recordings of the victim's abuse spread on social media.
It was also said that currently the perpetrator who was successfully secured was charged with Article 328 of the Criminal Code concerning deprivation of liberty and the maximum sentence is 12 years in prison.
He said that his party was still continuing to develop the investigation into the case, as well as hunting down the perpetrators who were at large.
"The three suspects are currently being held at the Cirebon Sub-regional City Police Headquarters for further legal proceedings," he said.
The police also appealed to the public to stay vigilant and immediately report if they know the whereabouts of the perpetrators who are still at large.
