Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto deployed 744 personnel assigned to the Garuda Contingent (Konga) United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) for a peacekeeping mission during a ceremony at the TNI Headquarters in East Jakarta on Thursday.
"Increase vigilance regarding developing situations, and maintain morale and health during the assignment," Chief Agus said in an official press release published by antaranews.com on Friday (22/5/2026).
He said that Indonesia's involvement in global peacekeeping reflects international trust in the professionalism of Indonesian soldiers. The TNI Commander urged the troops to uphold the nation's reputation, strictly adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), and prioritize safety throughout their deployment.
The 744-strong contingent will serve a one-year rotation in Lebanon, replacing the outgoing task force. The deployed personnel comprise 571 Army soldiers, 79 Navy personnel, 63 Air Force personnel, and 31 officers from the TNI Headquarters.
