inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice Chair of People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono alias Ibas says that tourism must not be greedy for land because business activities need balance with the environment and society.
"We understand that during the Covid period, Bali was greatly affected. Even today, we are still adjusting due to budget efficiency and major savings," said Ibas in a written statement received in Jakarta, quoted by Antaranews, Monday (5/18/2025).
According to him, this potential must be optimized by prioritizing justice for the community, both for business, customs, sustainability for the environment, and inclusiveness for all.
Ibas said there are three aspects that need attention in realizing Bali as a symbol of future potential, namely national connectivity, regional cycle, and global cycle.
These people's representatives will continue to fight for Bali to be more ready to go global.
"We as the Indonesian legislature continue to fight for Bali and New Bali to be more ready to go global as a more advanced, sustainable, and friendly destination for all," said Ibas.
He then asked all parties to jointly oversee various programs and policies that can encourage the progress and growth of Bali. This province can become the nation's economic strength.
The reason is, he said, Bali has cultural assets such as the kecak, legong, barong dances, including SME centers and a variety of Indonesian cuisine, to health centers as healthy, smiling, happy destinations.
"Bali can be a contributor to the nation's economic multiplier, a center for cooperation, green eco-culture tourism, and investment. Bali has energy, food, and natural charm," said Ibas.
