inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A tourist bus carrying 58 kindergarten children was caught in fire, on the Wiyoto Wiyono Toll Road Km 03, Jatinegara, East Jakarta on Thursday (10/24/2024).

This information was received by the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency at 10:12 am.

"The object that caught fire was the Bersama Putra Trans tourist bus," said Head of East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Ops Sub-agency Abdul Wahid.

Abdul Wahid added that the bus was driven by NK (49) and carrying 58 kindergarten children. According to information, sparks suddenly appeared in the bus engine from under the air conditioner. Then, the fire quickly grew bigger.

"It is suspected to be due to a short circuit in the AC," he explained.

Regarding this incident, three fire truckss were deployed to the location. The fire was successfully extinguished at 10:57 am.

Fortunately, there were no fatalities or injuries in this incident. However, the losses incurred by the owner are estimated to reach hundreds of millions of rupiah.

"Losses reach IDR 800 million," he concluded.
