inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps recorded positive results from the 14-day Operation Safety 2026, which ran from February 2 to 15, 2026. The operation was successful in reducing the number of traffic accidents and significantly reducing fatalities throughout Indonesia.

The Head of the Traffic Corps, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, revealed that the number of fatalities due to traffic accidents decreased by 51.06 percent compared to the period before the operation. This decline is a key indicator of the success of the operation, which involved the collaboration of various stakeholders in the field.

In addition to fatalities, the number of traffic accidents also decreased by 34.96 percent, or 2,098 incidents. This also included a decrease in serious injuries, by 23.04 percent, and minor injuries, by 33.17 percent.

Agus stated that a humane approach is key to improving road user compliance. Education is conducted without a repressive approach, so that the public will obey traffic rules due to an awareness of the importance of safety. More than 14.8 million educational activities have been conducted by personnel in the field.

The INP Traffic Corps ensures that collaboration with all stakeholders continues to be strengthened to ensure security, safety, order, and smooth traffic flow. The results of Operation Safety 2026 serve as an important foundation for creating safe traffic conditions ahead of Operation Ketupat 2026.
