Inp.polri.go.id - Bandung. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps has launched the Smart Road Safety Policing program in Bandung, West Java, by installing 200 CCTV cameras connected to the city’s smart city system to enhance road safety and traffic management.
“This approach to road safety policing ensures traffic in Bandung runs safely, orderly, and smoothly. As a tourist city and an icon of West Java, its traffic management must be modern, integrated, and people-oriented,” Traffic Corps Chief Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho said on Wednesday (12/11/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The system utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze traffic density and detect potential congestion points in real time. It is also integrated with the national emergency hotline 110. Chief Agus said the cameras would later connect to the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) system to strengthen automatic ticketing.
“Our goal is for 95 percent of law enforcement to use ETLE and only 5 percent to remain manual,” he added.
