Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Traffic Corps is preparing for increased traffic during the long holiday period from 24 to 30 January 2025, which coincides with the observance of Islamic day of Isra Mi'raj and Chinese New Year.
Brigadier General Raden Slamet Santoso, the Director of Traffic Operations at the Traffic Corps, said that the anticipated peak of holiday travel will be on 25 to 29 January 2025. In response, the Traffic Corps will focus on managing congestion, particularly on toll roads, arterial roads, and ferry crossings.
“Our officers will focus on handling the flow of vehicles during the homecoming and return trips on toll roads, arterial roads, and ferry crossings,” he said in a statement on Friday (24/1/2025), as quoted by antaranews.cm.
Traffic officers will also prioritize ensuring smooth traffic flow at key transportation hubs, such as airports, terminals, and train stations, as well as in popular tourist areas. Special attention will be given to culinary districts to prevent traffic jams.
Director Slamet emphasized the importance of securing religious celebration sites in both urban and rural areas.
“We will issue a SKB to restrict heavy goods vehicles after a coordination meeting,” he said, referring to a joint decree.
The Traffic Corps will implement measures such as vehicle restrictions, one-way systems, and contra flow to ease traffic. The situation will be monitored through the Command Center and local police offices
