Dody Dharma Cahyadi, Head of the Aviation Law Enforcement Sub-Directorate at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, stated that the coordination was carried out as a follow-up to the pilot's involvement in a narcotics smuggling case.

"As a follow-up to this incident, we will immediately coordinate intensively with the Malaysian Ministry of Transportation," he said in Tangerang on Friday (7/31/2026).

According to Cahyadi, the pilot's alleged involvement in narcotics crimes is a serious concern because it concerns aviation safety and security.

Meanwhile, Hengky Tomuan Parlindungan Aritonang, Head of the Soekarno-Hatta Customs and Excise Main Service Office, said the suspect's urine test results tested positive for MDMA, methamphetamine, cocaine, and other narcotics.

He said investigators are also investigating allegations that the suspect had smuggled narcotics several times, exploiting the special crew channel during departures.

In this case, officers found 70,144 ecstasy pills hidden in the suspect's personal luggage, as well as a small amount of methamphetamine.

Investigators are also investigating the alleged involvement of other parties suspected of controlling the network.

The Ministry of Transportation emphasized that it will continue to coordinate with Malaysian authorities and law enforcement officials to ensure the legal process is carried out and to encourage the imposition of administrative sanctions in accordance with the aviation authority's authority.

Furthermore, Hengky stated that the suspect smuggled the illicit goods after receiving a reward from the main actor, currently under investigation, of approximately 50,000 Ringgit, equivalent to IDR 220 million (exchange rate of Rp4,400/Ringgit).
