They were arrested on Tuesday at a gas station in Sempidi street, Kapal Village, Mengwi, Badung. Badung Police Chief, AKBP Leo Dedy Defretes, explained that the two perpetrators hoards the subsidized fuel using four large jerry cans. The fuel was transported using a luxury sedan type car with the police number DK 1627 ABJ. “The two perpetrators were arrested while filling 144 liters of fuel into jerry cans," explained the Badung Police Chief. The arrests of the two perpetrators began with information from residents regarding the long queue at the gas station. The police then came to the scene. It turned out that there were many people queuing up using large jerry cans. Seeing the arrival of the police, the perpetrators immediately fled. The two suspects were caught while trying to escape. When questioned, both admitted that they would stockpile the fuel before the government raised the price of fuel. They will sell it at a higher price so that they get a lot of profit. “They said they would sell to retailers. We are still investigating since when the two of them carried out this operation," explained AKBP Leo Dedy Defretes. Now the perpetrators and evidence of hundreds of liters of fuel are secured at the Badung Police. Likewise, the luxury sedans they used were confiscated as evidence.
