The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) rescue team in Bali confirmed that the first climber, Putu Diki Adi Warta (27), was located Friday morning at an elevation of 1,300 meters above sea level while searching for a way down. He encountered a local heading for a religious ceremony.
His companion, Ridho Adi Yudistira (22), was discovered near a river and waterfall at 1,700 meters above sea level later that morning, suffering from a suspected leg fracture.
“They were found separately, with the second climber requiring medical assistance due to a suspected lower-limb injury,” said I Wayan Suwena, the Head of Operations at Basarnas Bali, as reported by antaranews.com.
The climbers, part of a group of five, became separated during a descent on 24 December 2024. Three teammates returned safely, while Basarnas received a report about the missing duo on 25 December 2024.
