inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has dismantled an international drug ring originating from Russia by confiscating 7.8 kilograms of hashish (marijuana concentrate) in Bali. 

The arrests were made in collaboration with Customs and Excise, involving two Russian nationals: a woman with the initials KK (51) and a man with the initials SK (39), who claimed to have obtained the hashish from Thailand.

"A joint team from the BNN and Soekarno-Hatta Customs received information about a suspicious suitcase being carried by a passenger from Thailand bound for Jakarta," said BNN Head, Suyudi Ario Seto, in a written statement quoted on Tuesday (6/9/2026).

He stated that the 7.8 kilograms of hashish was planned to be distributed by the two Russian dealers to Bali. The case was uncovered after officers implemented a controlled delivery strategy to monitor the perpetrators' movements.

Investigators observed that KK continued his journey to Bali using a rental car. The suspect then crossed via Ketapang Harbor in Banyuwangi to Gilimanuk Harbor in Bali.

Upon arrival in Bali, KK met with a fellow Russian citizen, SK, who acted as a pick-up and the dealer in Bali. However, upon realizing their actions had been detected by officers, SK attempted to flee in his vehicle and dropped off KK and the suitcase of drugs on Bangli street.

"A chase ensued between officers and the suspect before SK was finally apprehended in the Cingang Hamlet area of ​​Bangli," he said.

The two suspects, both Russian citizens, along with the evidence, have been secured by authorities for further investigation and investigation. BNN emphasized that they will continue to investigate this international drugs network, including pursuing other suspects suspected of still hiding in Bali.
