inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Manpower Yassierli believes that strengthening skills is one of the main keys for workers in facing the disruption of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics in the workplace.
"I am confident that with unity and collaboration, we are ready to face this change. Our motto at the Ministry of Manpower is to welcome it with the principle of inclusivity, to leave no one behind," said Yassierli on Monday (2/23/2026).
Yassierli emphasized that the spirit of leaving no one behind is not just a slogan but must be realized through real work. He has invited trade unions to jointly implement upskilling and reskilling programs to improve the workforce's readiness to face industrial change.
"Last year, we trained 700 productivity experts and conducted occupational health and safety (K3) training at more than 63 locations, involving representatives of trade unions. We will continue to implement this program," explained Yassierli.
Furthermore, the Minister of Manpower hopes that labor unions will actively utilize the Ministry of Manpower's 42 training centers throughout Indonesia as centers for competency improvement solutions.
He emphasized that future challenges can only be met through upskilling and reskilling, as industry needs continue to evolve and demand new competencies.
Furthermore, the Minister of Manpower also touched on the importance of developing green jobs as a response to the green economy transformation. He stated that the Indonesian workforce must be equipped with new, relevant characteristics and competencies through concrete and measurable steps.
