Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto announced on Friday (27/2/2026) that the U.S. trade tariff for Indonesian products has decreased from 19 percent to 15 percent.
This adjustment was done after a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that invalidated several global tariff policies previously established by the Trump administration. The shift allows Indonesia to capitalize on the new 15 percent global rate while continuing to negotiate the reciprocal trade deal.
"We received a discount to 15 percent," said Minister Airlangga, as cited by antaranews.com.
Despite the judicial ruling, the core components of the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART) remain intact. Indonesian products, including palm oil, coffee, and electronics, will still benefit from zero-percent import duties under the agreed 1,819 tariff lines, aimed at expanding market access.
Minister Airlangga confirmed that these terms are expected to take full effect within 90 days following ratification, ensuring long-term trade stability between the two nations.
