Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will conduct a 90-day review of its energy import agreements with the United States following a U.S. Supreme Court decision.
Deputy Minister Yuliot said on Friday (27/2/2026) that the evaluation covers commitments to import crude oil, fuel, and LPG valued at approximately $15 billion. The move was taken after the U.S. judiciary invalidated certain reciprocal tariff policies previously established by the Trump administration.
"Within this 90-day window, we will hold further discussions regarding the implementation of our energy trade agreements," Yuliot said, as cited by antaranews.com.
The review was triggered by the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that the president lacked the authority to impose specific global tariffs under emergency economic laws. This legal shift has led to the temporary imposition of a 10% global tariff by the U.S., impacting the original Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART).
Despite the judicial setback, Indonesian officials are seeking to clarify how these changes affect the zero-percent import duties previously promised for Indonesian commodities such as palm oil and electronics.
