inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice Minister of Communication and Digital, Nezar Patria, said that the Publisher Rights Guidelines are one of his ministry's work priorities as these guidelines are a derivative of the implementation of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) number 32 of 2024.

He hopes that all parties related to the dissemination of quality journalistic works in the digital space can respect the agreements that have been made. For this reason, Nezar said that all parties must be able to implement the guidelines as well as possible.

"Yes, this (guidelines) is also one of our priority programs. We are making sure that publisher rights that have been stipulated into Presidential Regulation can be operationalized and implemented according to the expectations of all parties," he said on Tuesday (3/11/2025).

In his statement, he considered the Guidelines for the Implementation of the Fulfillment of Obligations of Digital Platform Companies to Support Quality Journalism to be a solution to digital distribution. In the development of digital technology, he said, mass media are challenged with the distribution of their works in the digital space.

Through this guideline, the role of mass media will be strengthened in maintaining the quality of information disseminated. The guideline also maintains the existence of quality journalism, to suppress disinformation and hoaxes that are spread through digital space.

"We encourage good collaboration between digital platforms to support quality journalism. There are many hoaxes, information crises that occur too many times. The government is paying considerable attention so that quality journalism can continue to exist," he concluded.
