inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka reminded the public to respect differences of opinion and politics amidst the high tension of elections.
The statement was conveyed by Vice President Gibran while delivering a briefing at the Alert Roll Call for Supervision of the Quiet Period, Voting, and Vote Counting Stages of the 2024 Regional Head Election in the southern area of the Monas Area, Central Jakarta on Wednesday (11/20/2024) morning.
"Different in choices are normal, different in opinions are common. That is precisely what colors and enliven our democracy," said the Vice President. He said that differences in political views are part of the diversity that should enrich the democratic nature in the country.
"This understanding must continue to be conveyed to the public," continued the Vice President.
On that occasion, the Vice President also called for a message of peace by inviting the public to maintain a conducive atmosphere.
"Finally, I would like to invite all of you to continue to maintain this conducive situation," said the Vice President.
Also present at the activity accompanying Vice President Gibran were the Head of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Rahmat Bagja and the Chairman of the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU) Mochammad Afifuddin and his staff.
The implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections will be held on November 27th, 2024. Before the voting day, the quiet period for the 2024 Regional Elections begins on November 24th, 2024 and lasts for three days.
