Inp.polri.go.id - Simpang Empat. West Pasaman Sub-regional Police in West Sumatra, directly monitor and regulate traffic at the landslide site that has caused the provincial road access from Simpang Empat to Talu Subdistrict, Talamau District, to be completely cut off early Friday morning (8/3/2024). "Access to the Rimbo Kejahatan Talamau road is completely cut off due to the landslide. We have installed road barriers or road guardrails at the location," said West Pasaman Police Chief Superintendent Agung Tribawanto as cited by Operations Chief Senior Inspector Muzhendra. Chief Muzhendra explained that the road body suffered from a landslide on Thursday around 10.45 pm triggered by heavy rainfall since Thursday afternoon. The West Pasaman and the Talamau Police immediately regulated vehicles passing through the road,  installed road barriers in the middle of both sides of the road and as coordinated with the Panti Police in Pasaman Regency to install warning signs in the Panti area to prevent vehicles to enter Talu. The Simpang Empat-Talu road is a provincial road that connects two regencies, namely West Pasaman Regency and Pasaman Regency. In addition, it is also passed by vehicles from Medan, North Sumatra, to Simpang Empat and vice versa. Until 3 am, the West Pasaman Police remained at the landslide site to provide assistance to the community. Meanwhile, the West Pasaman Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) until early Friday morning recorded several locations experiencing landslides and floods, including  a collapsed bridge at Jorong Rura Patontang, Koto Balingka District, floods in Jorong Limpato Kajai, Talamau District due to the overflow of Batang Limpato River, and floods in Jorong Wonosari, Kinali District,  fallen trees in Tampuniak, Kinali District, and floods in Sialang, Sasak Ranah Pasisia District.
