Inp.polri.go.id - Mamuju. In a pioneering move for Indonesia, the West Sulawesi Regional Police has introduced the Si Centing Siamasei application, an innovative information system aimed at detecting and addressing child stunting issues in children under the age of five, which can impede their physical development.
Inspector General Adang Ginanjar, Chief of the West Sulawesi Regional Police, highlighted the significance of the Si Centing Siamasei app as it efficiently connects infants displaying signs of stunting with the Bhayangkara Hospital, operated by the West Sulawesi Regional Police.
"The launch of this application reflects the West Sulawesi Regional Police's commitment to assisting the local government in reducing stunting rates in our region," he stated, as reported by antaranews.com on Thursday (14/9/23).
The application boasts a range of features, including the identification of anthropometric data, educational resources on stunting causes and consequences, prevention guidelines, growth development monitoring for children, and nutritional advice.
Moreover, General Adang explained that the app offers clear instructions to both mothers and healthcare workers regarding the child's status and recommended actions.
He emphasized that the application serves not only as an educational tool for families but also as a practical solution to combat stunting, requiring the expertise of medical professionals.
The launch of the Si Centing Siamasei app was commemorated through the signing of a collaborative agreement to prevent, control, and reduce stunting in West Sulawesi Province. Participants in the event wore vests identifying them as members of the West Sulawesi Stunting Prevention Task Force.
