Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Directorate General of Immigration detained 17 Vietnamese detained for allegedly misusing their visa while working at a beauty surgery clinic in East Pluit, Jakarta.
They include 10 women and 7 men. Fifteen held visa-on-arrival permits, while two had limited stay permits (ITAS) as investors. The group included medical staff, marketing personnel, and receptionists.
Director of Immigration Supervision and Enforcement Yuldi Yusman said on Friday (10/1/2025) that the detentions followed an investigation prompted by public reports.
Officers conducted a two-day undercover operation by posing as patients of the clinic, which started in 2018, to confirm the allegations.
"On Thursday, we executed the operation after finding evidence of illegal activities at the clinic," Yuldi explained at a press briefing, as reported by antaranews.com.
They face charges under Article 122 of Law No. 6/2011 for abusing residency permits, which carry penalties of up to 5 years imprisonment and fines of up to Rp 500 million.
"We are expanding the investigation to identify potential collaborators, such as recruiters or facilitators. There will be zero tolerance for lawbreakers," Yuldi emphasized,
