The Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono emphasized that Indonesia is ready to support the reconstruction of Gaza Strip following the ceasefire between Palestine-Israel. The Gaza Strip has been under attack for more than a year, continuously bombarded by the Israeli military forces.

"The Government of the Republic of Indonesia is ready to make efforts to support the reconstruction in Gaza," said the Minister of Foreign Affairs on Friday (1/17/2025).

Sugiono said that Indonesia continues to play an active role in helping the Palestinians in their struggle against the oppressive forces of Israeli and achieve their independence in various ways and approaches.

He also stated that Indonesia is ready to contribute to peacekeeping forces if requested by the United Nations (UN).

According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the ceasefire agreement reached between Israel and Hamas on January 15, 2025 is something to be grateful for because it opens up new hope for the realization of peace in Palestine.

Moreover, the Palestinian people have suffered so much and many lives have been lost due to the Israeli aggression that has lasted for almost 500 days since October 7, 2023.

For this reason, Indonesia emphasizes the importance of the commitment of both parties to uphold their respective agreements so that there are no more things that can hinder the implementation of the ceasefire this time, he said.

"Hopefully this is the beginning of a new future of peace in the Middle East," said the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

He also hopes that this ceasefire will provide a good start to achieving a two-state solution to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in accordance with international agreements.
