Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Central Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police are investigating a criminal assault involving minors following an acid-throwing incident in West Cempaka Putih area on Friday afternoon. 

Investigators have analyzed viral social media footage of the attack, which occurred around 4 pm, and have identified the suspects’ vehicle and preliminary identities.

"We have handled the case and conducted an investigation, including analyzing the video circulating on social media," said Superintendent Roby Heri Saputra, the Head of Criminal Investigation at Central Jakarta Police, on Sunday (8/2/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.

The investigation revealed that three suspects on a single motorcycle intercepted the victim’s bike before dousing them with acid. One victim sustained serious eye injuries and is currently recovering at home after hospital treatment, though they remain too traumatized for formal questioning. 

Due to the involvement of minors, the case has been transferred to the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA). Police are currently pursuing the suspects, who fled the scene immediately after the encounter.
