Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has detained Semarang Mayor Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu and Chairman of Commission D of the Central Java Legislative Council (DPRD) Alwin Basri for alleged corruption.
Both suspects will be held at the East Jakarta State Detention Center, a KPK detention center branch, for 20 days starting Wednesday (19/2/2025).
KPK Deputy Chairman Ibnu Basuki Widodo said that the suspects allegedly received Rp 1.7 billion from a 2023 school furniture procurement project, Rp 2 billion from district-level direct appointment projects, and Rp 2.4 billion from the Semarang Revenue Agency.
"Detention is necessary to expedite the investigation process and prevent the suspects from fleeing or destroying evidence," said Ibnu, as quoted by antaranews.com
They are charged under the Anti-Corruption Law and the Criminal Code.
