Inp.polri.go.id - Gowa.  In celebration of Kartini Day, 19 female officers from Gowa Sub-regional Police received awards on Monday (21/4/2025) for their dedication to public service, highlighting their role in delivering responsive and human-centered policing in South Sulawesi.

Among them, Brigadier Mardiana was acknowledged after a video of her rescuing a motorized pedicab driver from a ditch during heavy rain went viral. She acted quickly while on traffic duty, earning widespread public praise.

Gowa Police Chief Superintendent Muhammad Aldy Sulaiman said the recognition aims to inspire more humane policing.

“We hope this motivates all officers to serve with heart and uphold the values of Kartin,.” he said, as quote by antaranews.com.

Three officers—Brigadier Mardiana, Brigadier Susi Susanti, and Senior Brigadier Siti Suriati—represented the awardees during the ceremony held at the Gowa Police Headquarters.

The event also marked the launch of Polwan Sahabat Masyarakat, a new initiative to foster stronger community relations and reinforce the role of women in public service.
