Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Election Organizers Honor Council (DKPP) has been inundated with 262 reports alleging breaches of the election organizers' code of ethics, as revealed by DKPP member Tio Aliansyah during a recent event titled "Discussing Election Organizer Ethics with the Media."
These reports, received up to September, included seven originating from Banten province.
He said that the majority of these reports failed to pass the material review stage due to a lack of ethical violation elements. Out of the 262 complaints, only 89 made it to the report review stage as the DKPP team had to painstakingly verify whether they indeed contained ethical or other legal violations.
"Out of the 89 cases reviewed, not all resulted in sanctions. In fact, sanctions were relatively infrequent compared to cases where rehabilitation was recommended. Thus, the DKPP delivers two types of judgments: sanctions and rehabilitation," he said as reported by antaranews.ocm
Among the seven complaints from Banten Province, various election organizing bodies were implicated, including the provincial Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu), the Banten General Election Commission, district/city election comissions, and sub-district election supervisory committees (Panwascam).
Aliansyah said that some of the reports were unrelated to the election stages, encompassing issues such as sexual harassment and the selection of prospective organizers, while others directly pertained to the electoral process.
DKPP called on the election organizers to prioritize transparency with the public by utilizing media channels, albeit with the exception of sensitive and confidential information.
