Inp.polri.go.id - Serang. Authorities confirmed that all 47 vehicles previously exposed to radioactive Cesium-137 in Cikande Industrial Zone, Serang Regency, Banten, have been fully decontaminated, following the inspection of 29,700 vehicles since early October.
“From the total inspections, 47 vehicles were found contaminated with Cesium-137. All have been successfully decontaminated,” said Rasio Ridho Sani, the Deputy for Pollution and Environmental Damage Control at the Ministry of Environment, on Thursday (23/10/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
He added that no new contaminated vehicles have been detected in the past week, crediting the effective work of the Gegana Brimob Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Task Force.
CBRN Commander Police Senior Superintendent Yopie Indra Prasetya Sepang confirmed that since October 1, nearly 30,000 vehicles had been screened.
“As of now, all are clear. The situation is under control,” he said, saying that industrial activities in Cikande are returning to normal as no further radioactive spread has been recorded.
