Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The leader of the Intan Jaya Armed Criminal Group (KKB), Undius Kogoya, has reportedly died in Wandai District, Intan Jaya Regency, Papua Tengah Province, according to police reports on Thursday (23/10/2024).

“Undius Kogoya was reported to have died due to illness. We received information that the KKB leader in Intan Jaya passed away in Wandai,” said Intan Jaya Sub-regional Police Chief Senior Inspector Sofian Samakori to antaranews.com.

Police sources said Undius died on Wednesday at 3 pm local time in Jae Village, Wandai District, after reportedly falling ill. Before his death, he had traveled through several areas, from Timika, Mimika Regency, to Enarotali in Paniai, before returning to Intan Jaya.

Undius Kogoya was known as one of the key figures behind several armed attacks targeting both civilians and security forces in Intan Jaya since 2022. His death is seen as a significant development in ongoing security operations in the Papua Mountains.
