inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Mobile Brigade Corps was born on November 14 and is the oldest unit in the Indonesian National Police. Mobile Brigade has a long history of maintaining the security of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
The forerunner of the Mobile Brigade has existed since the Japanese colonial era. Mobile Brigade took part in the struggle for independence and even had a significant role in fighting the rebellion in the early days of the Republic of Indonesia.
History of the establishment of Mobile Brigade:
1. APRIL 1944
The Japanese Military Government established the Tokubetsu Keisatsu Tai (Special Police Force) in every Residency of Java, Madura and Sumatra, consisting of young police officers trained, disciplined, and well organized.
2. AUGUST 1945
He also fought to defend Indonesia's independence and became the forerunner of the formation of the Indonesian National Police.
3. November 14, 1946
The entire Tokubetsu Kaisatsu Tai unit was merged into the Mobile Brigade.
4. November 14, 1961
President Soekarno changed the name of this unit to the Mobile Brigade (Brimob) and designated it as Mobile Brigade (Brimob) Day.
