Chief of Indonesian National Police Makes Dream of Teuku Tegar, Gold Medalist of PON, Comes True

inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Chief of National Police, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, realise the dream of Teuku Tegar Abadi, a pole vault athlete who has made Indonesia proud at the international or national level. The newest update, Tegar got a gold medal in the 20th National Sports Week (PON XX) in Papua.

The dream of the athlete, who is from Tuban, East Java, was realised because he wished to be Police personnel. Sigit awarded Tegar to be the Bhayangkara corps personnel through a proactive recruitment scheme.

"Okay. Our personnel would approach Tegar to be Police personnel through a proactive recruitment scheme because Police needs people with achievement, and we are indeed delighted if Tegar wants to join us", Sigit said directly to Tegar through video call on Saturday (13/11/2021).

Tegar even feels happy because his dream was realised by Chief of National Police, General Sigit. On that occasion, he asked the Chief whether he could continue his training as an athlete after being accepted into the Police institution.

Responding to the question, Sigit firmly allows Tegar to continue to achieve more awards and keep training even when becoming a Policeman.

"I ensure your activity could still be continued and developed. We want you to be the Police and also represent us to bring the institution's name to the national and international levels. Of course, we supported that", the former Chief of Banten Regional Police said.

Not only that, but Sigit also ensure Tegar that he does not need to worry if he is required some money during the proactive recruitment because Sigit emphasises that all recruitment phases are free of charge.

If Tegar was later asked by some people to pay some money, the former Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency of National Police asked him to report it to the Profession and Security Agency (Propam). According to too him, abilities and achievement are the top requirements for a law enforcer personnel.

"Yes, Sir. Excuse me for saying this but are there any extra charges? Because usually, people pay to get in. What should I do when I face that moment?", Tegar asked.

"Those claims are lies. I ensure that Police recruitment is free of charge. If you heard so, report to the Propam, and we will process that personnel. In essence, the recruitment phase is free. The importance is that you have abilities and achievement", Sigit answered firmly.

Tegar wants to be a Police personnel because he was inspired by his grandfather, and he wants to continue his grandfather's struggle. The dream has finally been realised thanks to the good intention from the Chief of National Police.

Sigit then congratulates Tegar for breaking the pole vault record. Sigit also asked Tegar to keep practising for approaching Sea Games next year.

Sigit also listened to the daily life of Tegar, who helped his father gardening tomatoes and corns. Related to that, Sigit said to Tegar that when he officially became the Police, he also allowed help his father in the field. "If you have become the Police personnel, you still can grow the tomatoes", Sigit said.

At the end of their conservation, Sigit said that his personnel would administer the proactive recruitment process. He asked Tegar to keep practising and stay healthy.

"Okay. Welcome to the Police. Someone will call you. The most important is to stay healthy. Keep practising. Greetings to your parents. Thank you", Sigit said.

After having his dream realised, Tegar was happy and touched because he had been offered to be a Police personnel, which he had been dreaming of for a long time.
