inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Minister of Elementary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul Mu'ti, reminded students, as the nation's next generation, not to go out at night, as this will have a negative impact on themselves and their future.
"Don't be bats who roam around at night," said Abdul Mu’ti, Thursday (January 8, 2026). He urged them not to engage in activities at night, such as pointless hang out or any other useless activities.
As children who will become the nation's next generation, he said, they must adopt seven habits, one of which is going to bed early so they can wake up early before sunrise.
"Make a habit of going to bed early. If you go to bed early, you'll wake up early," noted Abdul.
He also reminded students not to use their cell phones excessively to the point of losing track of time, which disrupts their sleep patterns and makes it difficult to wake up in the morning.
For example, the Minister continued, there is a current trend known as "sleep calling," which involves calling someone at night until they fall asleep.
"If you're used to 'sleep calls', it will be hard for you to wake up early. So, for you to wake up early, stop with the sleep calls," highlight Abdul.
He explained that going to bed early should become a habit for children so they develop discipline, better health, and the ability to be ready for various activities, especially learning at school.
Abdul said that efforts to make students get into the habit of going to bed early require not only awareness from the students themselves but also support from all parties in their environment, including teachers and parents.
