"The reduction in airfare prices can be realized thanks to cross-ministerial and stakeholder collaboration," said Minister Dudy.

He said that to accommodate the ticket reduction, without reducing VAT, the role of airlines such as Angkasa Pura Indonesia, PT Pertamina, and Airnav is needed to reduce fuel surcharge, PJP2U, and avtur.

The Minister of Transportation hopes that the reduction in airline ticket prices will be good news for people who will travel during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays.

"We continue to do the preparation as best as we can so people can celebrate Christmas and New Year Eve safely and comfortably,” says Minister Dudy.

He said that the survey results showed that during Christmas and New Year, the potential for community movement can reach up to 110.67 million people.

"Currently, the periodic inspections of all transportation modes ranging from buses, trains, ships to planes continue to be carried out. This step is important to ensure the safety of all modes during the Christmas and New Year transportation period," explained Dudy.

The government has decided to lower domestic flight ticket prices during the Christmas and New Year period as directed by the President.

The implementation of the price adjustment will be valid for 16 days, from December 19th, 2024 to January 3rd, 2025.
