inp.polri.go.id - Ottawa. The Head of Indonesian National Police (INP) International Relations Division, Inspector General Krishna Murti and the Director General of International Special Services of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Frank William Price, signs Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the prevention and eradication of transnational organized crime and capacity building at RCMP Headquarters.

The signing of this MoU is a follow up to the first signing, first initiated in 2014, covering 10 areas of cooperation ranging from prevention and eradication of cybercrime, handling of terrorism cases, to crisis management. In addition, both institutions also agreed to increase the capacity of INP's human resources through a comprehensive training program.

With the extension of this MoU, it is hoped that the cooperation between the INP and the RCMP will be more solid and effective in facing the increasingly complex challenges of transnational crime. Through the exchange of knowledge and experience, both institutions can learn from each other and strengthen their capabilities in maintaining security and order in each country.

In order to improve coordination and ongoing cooperation, INP hopes that the Indonesian Embassy in Ottawa, especially the Consular Office, can play an active role as a liaison with the Canadian RCMP. This request was conveyed by Krishna Murti directly at a friendly event held at the Indonesian Ambassador's Residence for Canada on the same day.
