Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) predicts that the peak of the post-Christmas and New Year travel rush will occur on 4 January 2025.

Faik Fahmi, President Director of InJourney Airports, said on Monday (30/12/2024)  that they are fully prepared for this busy period.

As of Monday, the total number of passengers passing through the 37 airports managed by InJourney has reached 6 million, a 10% increase from the projected 9.3 million passengers. This is a rise compared to last year’s 8.71 million passengers.

The company has managed approximately 1,200 extra flights so far, with more expected for the return leg of the holiday rush, according to antaranews.com.

Fahmi emphasized that additional measures are in place to ensure smooth airport operations and passenger services during the peak period. He also noted that Soekarno-Hatta International Airport reached its highest traffic on 22 December 2024, with 190,000 passengers. "

We expect similar numbers during the peak return period," he added, confirming that all preparations are in place for efficient handling of this surge
