Rokan Hulu Sub-regional Police, accompanied by Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) during the night prior the voting day, reportedly raided vehicles indicated for money politics. The initiative was led directly by of Rokan Hulu Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent . The raid was co-lead by Rokan Hulu Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit Chief, Police Assistant Inspector Raja Kosmos, and involved six police Integrated Law Enforcement personnel, 15 Bawaslu personnel, 10 Uniformed Reguler Police Corps, five Mobile Brigade personnel, and five military personnel. Meanwhile, during the raid, security personnel checked every passing four-wheeled vehicles to ensure no money or items that could be used to bought people’s votes. In his statement, Budi says that the activity was to prevent money politics ahead the voting day. “We hope that the election will be going safely, secure, and conducive as we are ready to secure the election process,” said Budi on Tuesday (2/13/2024). The raid was over at 23.30 am and they found no stacks of money or other items that could be used for money politics. (ad/fa/pr/nm)
