Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport has expanded its international network with new direct flights to Chengdu, China, and Cheongju, South Korea.

“We welcome the entry of Sichuan Airlines and T’way Air, operating for the first time in Bali. These routes open new opportunities for Chinese and Korean tourists to enjoy Bali with ease,” said Ngurah Rai Airport general manager Ahmad Syaugi Shahab on Sunday (28/9/2025), as quoted b antaranews.com.

T’way Air launched its inaugural Cheongju–Denpasar service on September 25, operating twice weekly with Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. Meanwhile, Sichuan Airlines began daily flights between Chengdu Tianfu and Bali on September 26, carrying 181 passengers on its first arrival.

China remains one of Bali’s largest tourism markets, with 393,825 Chinese visitors recorded up to August 2025, making it the third-highest foreign arrival group. With these additions, Ngurah Rai now serves 42 international routes operated by 47 airlines, strengthening Bali’s position as a leading Asian tourist hub.
