inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Bekasi Sub-regional Metro Police have successfully uncovered nine drug criminal cases from June 3rd to August 8th, 2024.

Head of Bekasi Sub-regional Metro Police, Senior Superintendent Twedi Aditya Bennyahdi says that from the nine drug criminal cases uncovered by the police, eight suspects have been arrested. The suspects have the initials of K (37), MJ (30), FF (27), H (34), HE (23), AW (25), JA (37), and S (54).

Twedi Says that suspects have been arrested at different places, from Bogor, North Cikarang, West Karawang, and South Tambun Housing Complex.

Among the nine drug criminal cases, Twedi detailed that one of the most significant cases uncovering begins with the report from the public. Following the report, police launched an investigation and found JA as the suspect.

Evidence seized by the police includes 529.87 grams of weed, 5,808 ecstasy pills, 212.14 grams of methamphetamine, 288.8 grams of synthetic tobacco, 445 grams of synthetic tobacco seed, 406 grams of ketamine/key, one motorbike, 11 cellphones and 5 electric scales.

“This case is significant among all, as we estimated that 36,152 lives were saved from the illicit drugs that we seized. On the other hand, the total value of the drugs reached 7 billion IDR,” said Bekasi Sub-regional Metro Police Chief.

The Head of the Drug Criminal Investigation Directorate, Police Assistant Superintendent Dedi Herdiana reveals that suspects market and sell the drugs through social media.

“He is linked to Malaysian, Medan, Lampung, Jakarta, and Bekasi drug ring,” said Dedi.

For their crimes, they will be charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 Sub Article 111 paragraph 2 of Law No. 35/2009 concerning Narcotics, and Article 435 in conjunction with Article 138 paragraph 2 of Law No. 17/2023 concerning Health. The threat of imprisonment is 20 years to life.
